What is "personal style?"
Within the past year, I have found myself to indulge into the world of menswear on a daily basis. I love everything about it; from fit to color contrast. I find it comforting to know that no matter what I wear, I know I will look good and feel confident. Now that I’ve researched what has to be every basic about “how to dress,” I feel it’s time to develop my own personal style. As of recent, this has popped into my mind; what is personal style?
To me, personal style is an expression of one’s personality. This can call for a loud outfit with bright colors and bold tones, or soft tones for the soft spoken individual. Overall I think personal style means combining certain trends and making it your own. I can recall countless times I’ve seen young people wear something that looks like it came straight out of a magazine. That is not personal style, this just means you know how to copy and paste things to your body.
While I have come to the point in my life where I have learned to ignore the smartass comments people make about my sense of style, I find it rather irritating to receive these comments from people who dare to step out of their house with wrinkled shirts and pants that don’t fit. Honestly, who are they to criticize me when they clearly don’t even know how to dress themselves. But, no matter, I’m sure their quite comfortable being average. I offer no apology to you for the way I dress and I am proud of the fact that I don’t fill my closet with Abercrombie & Fitch like some douchebag (yeah I said it, DOUCHEBAG!)
